Hamid Gul is well spoken. It is interesting to hear his VERY controversial views on Afghanistan, 9/11, Bin Laden and 26/11.
In summary, Mr. Gul asserts that the people in Afghanistan fighting the U.S. are not terrorists but resisting an invasion. 9/11 was planned within America by Israel / “Jewish Zionists” who are manipulating Americans for purposes of controlling the world’s oil supply and filling gaps in America’s global presence. Bin Laden is NOT a terrorist. He also believes that 26/11 is an “inside” job and there is no motivation for anyone in Pakistan including ex-ISI agents to have done do.
He alludes to the Samjhauta Express train bombing in 2007 where 68 people were killed as being a job “proven” to be carried out by Hindu extremists http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Samjhauta_Express. Mr. Hamid has obviously been proven wrong on his 9/11 and 26/11 assertions.
It is noteworthy that Fareed was born and brought up in Mumbai. He calls himself a Bombayite as was the norm before Bombay was renamed Mumbai which is a refreshing change from ‘Mumbaikar’. This makes his coverage of the Mumbai terror attacks all the more interesting.
He mentioned in last week’s an broadcast that his mother lives across the street from the Jewish center at Nariman House. His family had NSG commandos in their house firing at the terrorists during the siege at Nariman House. His nephews are keeping the bullets as souviners. Farid will be vising Mumbai in a couple of weeks and plans to eat at the Taj.
I really doubt it will be open that soon Fareed! There’s always Leopold Cafe which opened just 2 days after the attacks ended. The Trident plans on opening on the 21st of this month. I certainly hope so. Bravo!
