Wow…unlike the recent one-sided articles recently in the press cheering on India, this one by Arundhati Roy is hard-hitting, OUTspoken and thought provoking. She bars no holds and highlights the issues India needs to take a hard look at within our borders. I applaud her for taking this approach. No surprise this is coming from [...]
Great post that essentially states that patriotism must be roused by nations to fight terrorism. Both, by nations that are primarily victims of terrorism and those that have become terrorist havens. ” But if terror groups are to be defeated, it is national governments that will have to do so. In nations like India (and the [...]

MY bleeding city. My poor great bleeding heart of a city. Why do they go after Mumbai? There’s something about this island-state that appalls religious extremists, Hindus and Muslims alike. Perhaps because Mumbai stands for lucre, profane dreams and an indiscriminate openness.

SRK and Bollywood React. Good interview where SRK clarifies that the Koran does not advocate violence. Islam as the word of Allah vs. Islam as interpreted by the Mullahs.

I am a Mumbaikar who has been living in the U.S. for a little over 11 years.
As soon as I heard about the attacks on 26/11, I tuned into the live newscasts. I spent the next 3 days transfixed, watching the terrible events unfold. Seething with rage and feeling unable to help in any way, I have since been glued to the media trying to decipher who? why? and what can I do to help? Anger quickly gave way to sorrow and then a strong urge to do something.
I quickly realized while speaking to friends and family in the U.S. and India there were some very important, inspirational and constructive voices that are being lost in the deluge of news that has been pouring out.
By starting this Blog, I hope to bring forth some of these voices and stories which must be heard by EVERY Mumbaikar and EVERY Indian. I also hope to highlight ways in which we can make a difference.
By not allowing the Terrorists to divide us or bring down our economy, we have handed them a resounding defeat. If anything, they have galvanized us. We must keep up the momemtum and shake off our apathy and our Chalta Hai attitudes. India Awakening..
